When talking about social media, a lot of people fail to see the immense opportunity for entrepreneurship. Throughout this piece, I’ll be outlining a few ways that social media can take your brand to the next level.

To begin, social media helps you communicate with your customers in a unique way, while also indirectly creating a communal PR hub. When looking at corporations, a lot of them use social media as a way to build connections with customers and fans. Being able to communicate with customers through comments and direct messages allows you to build relationships with individual fans. Not only that, but social media can also be used to relay product updates, news leaks, and many more important PR pieces.

Companies like Sony use the Playstation Instagram to post videos of upcoming games. This leads to free marketing, and indirectly creates a conversation between the followers. Their comments section is full of discussion about new games, different updates, etc. Their Instagram acts as a community hub, and a way to create a personality.

Secondly, social media is the perfect marketing tool for upcoming brands. For startups, budgets can be a large issue. Social media allows you to gain exposure to thousands of people at no cost whatsoever. I’ve seen multiple brands blow up on TikTok, and translate their newfound fanbase to success and sales. Social platforms allow you to market your product without the large cost, making your budget more flexible. Putting up a post on a platform can attract a large group of viewers who may be interested in your product or cause.

Finally, social media is the perfect way to build a network. Creators use their platforms to communicate their interests and tend to build a fanbase of like-minded people. This allows upcoming entrepreneurs access to more resources, connections, and many more. This also enables you to begin the process of building your niche network, eventually allowing you an easier way to build up a successful brand. The collaboration aspect that social media instigates is perfect for startups or even established corporations. By creating a network of people with your interests, it gives you a larger array of resources leading into the future.

It’s interesting to note that Gen Z has taken advantage of social media to a large extent. A multitude of teenage creators have built brands off of a fanbase on Instagram or TikTok, and the new generation of entrepreneurs is emerging from a niche that most thought to be a waste of time. As a whole, social media can give the average entrepreneur a leg up on the competition.
