As the pandemic rages around us, you’re probably looking for a fun DIY project to pursue. What better (and more productive) than to start an Internet niche page? To help you earn clout, experience, and maybe even some money, here are Genfluencer’s top tips for creating an Instagram page.

Step 1: Find your niche

What’s a page without content? Absolutely nothing. The first step to producing content is thinking about your niche. When doing so, you should look at two questions.

  • Do I like my niche?

If you don’t enjoy creating and producing your content, it’ll be reflected in both your videos and their performance. Thus, picking one of your interests as an area of focus will make the process more comfortable (and a lot more fun).

  • Is my niche large?

While doing what you love should be a priority, it’s helpful to think about whether other people love the same thing. If your goal is based on objective and numerical success, you should gravitate towards content that others will enjoy. This isn’t to say that your interests don’t matter (see question #1), but the easiest way to gain followers is by posting things that are appealing to your fellow online users.

Step 2: Develop a content strategy

Before you become the next Jake Paul, you’ll need to have a plan. What makes your videos unique? Why should I prioritize them over everybody else’s? These are among the points that you should consult while thinking about your content. At times, it can be helpful to have a gimmick. For instance, many YouTubers will play the part of an outlandish character to garner views. Before you upload a video, be sure to think about why that video is remarkable.

Step 3: Start a snowball

A lot of times, the success of your profile/channel will be exponential. That’s how TikTokers like Charli D’amelio have garnered over 100 million followers in such a short timespan. Thus, we like to think of your media accounts as a fire. Once you get a flame, you must capitalize. If a video goes internet viral, post ten times during the next day! If not, your flame will go out. Getting views may not be easy, but keeping views is even more difficult. When your virality starts to bloom, don’t waste it.

Step 4: Stay consistent

Just like working out, growing a page takes time. If it were easy, we’d all be Charli D’amelio. If you don’t see immediate success, keep going anyways! The dedicated internet specialists are the ones who pushed through the place that you’re in right now. It’ll all pay off soon; you just have to be consistent with your content.

Obviously, this isn’t a one-way trip to media stardom. You’ll need graphics, marketing skills, and maybe even a bit of luck, but all of those are useless if you cannot practice the steps above!
