We sat down with 16-year-old social media influencer Jake T. Davidson to talk about social media strategy. Jake has accumulated over 1.5 million fans across his 4 years on social media. When asked about his advice for upcoming influencers, Jake said “social networking.”

Jake describes “social networking” as the ability to build relationships with like-minded individuals. He believes that the best products require teams, as opposed to individuals. He states “a project can be viewed as a puzzle. In order for you to succeed, you need the necessary pieces.”

Jake notes “the best thing a small creator can do is network with those around him. You’d be surprised at the amount of value you can gain through collaboration. Even if it’s something simple, like knowing a professional videographer, it can come in handy at times. Having these resources has given me flexibility when searching for my next endeavor since I know that I have connections to people who can help me out.”

Jake hopes to inspire smaller creators to connect with other rising influencers. “The prospect of reaching out to someone can seem scary, but it’s extremely worth it. The friendships you build will last for years.” Through his years on social media, Jake has created a large network of similar content creators who help him grow. Likewise, Jake helps his friends with his unique content style and intuitive mindset. While he’s had a multitude of his pages deactivated without probable cause, the high-schooler has managed to build a social media empire using his networking.

In conclusion, Jake believes that the best resources can be found in the people around you. His final thought to us was “every person on this earth has some unique talent. My goal is to harness as many as I can.”
